AAP protests the transfer of 2 senior IAS officers from Delhi to Arunachal AAP protested the transfer of two senior IAS officers from Delhi to Arunachal Pradesh which was the third such transfer by the administration in the national capital in 15 days. The two officers are Neeraj Semwal (IAS 2003-batch), who was holding the post of Secretary-cum-Divisional Commissioner, Revenue Department, Delhi and Ravi Jha (IAS 2011-batch), Deputy Commissioner, New Delhi. Both have been transferred to the Arunachal Pradesh cadre of the AGMUT cadre. The orders for the transfer was by the MHA on September 19, 2026, it is reported. The order also transferred two IPS officers-Vikramjit Singh and Abhishek Dhania-to Arunachal Pradesh. Bhatradwaj sought a reply from Chief Minister Rekha Gupta over the transfers. Amar Ujala, which published his remarks, also carried his separate queries on the Delhi Police ACB Joint Commissioner Vikramjit Singh transfer. None of the reports, though, establish that the transfers were made on account of any investigation or offense. The transfers orders, by the way, are part of various postings of AGMUT officers on cadre. Additional bureaucracy-focused reports, meanwhile, have characterised the move as part of officer postings on a continued basis within the cadre.

To strengthen the organization ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections, senior leaders from the Congress and AAP parties may visit Uttarakhand. Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi may address the public in Garhwal or Kumaon in September. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi may also visit Uttarakhand once again. Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu is also scheduled to visit Uttarakhand. The Congress party says that senior central-level leaders have taken the upcoming Uttarakhand Assembly elections very seriously. State party president Ganesh Godiyal stated that when All India Congress Committee National President Mallikarjun Kharke met with Uttarakhand Congress leaders, he stated that Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and Mallikarjun Kharke himself would be making several visits to the state. Consequently, the Uttarakhand Congress is planning a visit by Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi to Uttarakhand in September. The Congress party will finalize the venue and date after consulting with all these leaders. Additionally, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh may visit Dehradun. According to Ganesh Godiyal, the Himachal government has implemented the OPS, so the Uttarakhand Congress also wants Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh to come to Dehradun and attend the press conference to convey to the people of the state that the same work we did in Himachal will be done in Uttarakhand. Meanwhile, in view of the upcoming assembly elections in the state, the Aam Aadmi Party is preparing to invite its central leaders to Uttarakhand. AAP’s state executive president, Uma Sisodia, stated that discussions are underway with the party’s high command regarding the party’s central leaders’ visit to Uttarakhand. The party’s state in-charge’s visit is scheduled for August 23rd. Following the in-charge’s visit, every effort is being made to invite former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh to Uttarakhand. Uma Sisodia stated that she is hopeful that this effort will be successful very soon.
Narmada Court Sentences AAP MLA Chaitar Vasava, Wife and 7 Others to 7 Years in Assault-Extortion Case
A Sessions Court in Narmada district has convicted AAP MLA Chaitar Vasava, his wife, and seven others in a case involving the alleged assault of Forest Department officials and extortion in 2023. The court sentenced all the accused to seven years in prison and imposed a fine of ₹25,000 on each. The verdict was delivered by Additional Sessions Judge A.V. Hirpara. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has opposed the verdict. Gopal Rai, the party’s Gujarat in-charge, stated that AAP would organize support marches across the state starting June 26 to protest the decision. He said that party workers would stage demonstrations in every district to raise their voices in support of Chaitar Vasava. Gopal Rai alleged that the BJP is unsettled by Vasava’s growing popularity and that he has been targeted for political reasons. He claimed that the case is part of a conspiracy and that such politics cannot be accepted in a democracy. Rai added that, ultimately, the public would decide the truth. AAP has also made it clear that it will pursue all available legal avenues in this matter. Earlier, party national convener Arvind Kejriwal had also expressed support for Vasava, stating that the charges against him were false and that he had been politically framed due to his rising influence within the tribal community.
