An incident involving a fire at the Ministry of Education’s office, located within the campus of the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA) in Delhi’s ITO area, was reported on Monday. The fire broke out on the second floor of the Ministry’s office, where several administrative and policy-related branches operate. Following the incident, a commotion ensued in the area, and the office building was evacuated as a precautionary measure. The Delhi Fire Service received a report regarding the fire at approximately 9:37 AM. Upon receiving the information, eight fire tenders were dispatched to the scene, and operations to bring the fire under control were initiated. According to officials, no casualties have been reported so far. This incident occurs at a time when the Ministry of Education is actively addressing various administrative and legal issues related to the high-profile NEET paper leak case of previous years. However, officials have clarified that no link between the fire and the NEET case has been confirmed thus far. According to preliminary information, an investigation has been launched to ascertain the cause of the fire. Authorities are also assessing whether any critical documents, records, or digital assets have sustained damage. Currently, the fire department and relevant agencies are working to bring the situation completely under control and to assess the extent of the damage. Officials have stated that detailed information regarding the actual cause of the fire and the resulting damage will only become available once the investigation has been concluded.

Petrol and diesel prices have risen again across the country. Petrol and diesel prices have risen by more than ₹2.50, doubling the burden of inflation on the general public. Petroleum companies have increased petrol and diesel prices for the fourth time in 10 days. This began on May 15th, when petrol prices were increased by ₹3. Additionally, on May 25th, petrol prices were increased by more than ₹2.50. Due to the rise in international crude oil prices and escalating tensions in the Middle East, oil marketing companies are continuously increasing fuel prices. Following this new increase, petrol prices in the national capital, Delhi, have reached ₹102.12 per liter and diesel ₹95.20 per liter. In Mumbai, petrol has risen ₹111.21 per liter and diesel ₹97.83 per liter. In Chennai, the price of petrol has increased to ₹107.77 per liter and diesel to ₹99.55 per liter. Following the increase in petrol and diesel prices, new fuel prices have now been implemented in Uttarakhand as well. In Dehradun, petrol prices have reached ₹100.50 per liter and diesel ₹95.90 per liter. Even in hilly districts like Bageshwar, Chamoli, Tehri, and Uttarkashi, petrol prices have crossed the ₹100 per liter mark. The continuous increase in diesel and petrol prices is directly impacting transportation and logistics. The rising prices have also increased the concerns of the common people, leading to the rise in prices of daily necessities, vegetables, and other consumer goods.
Haryana to Delhi CM Office: Rekha Gupta’s Remarkable Political Journey

Rekha Gupta is currently the Chief Minister of Delhi and the MLA from Shalimar Bagh in the Delhi Legislative Assembly. On February 20, 2025, Rekha Gupta was sworn in as the fourth woman and ninth Chief Minister of the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi. This makes her the 18th woman Chief Minister in India. Rekha Gupta was born on July 19, 1974, in Julana, Jind district, Haryana. Her father, Mr. Jai Bhagwan Jindal, worked as a branch manager at the State Bank of India, while her mother, Mrs. Urmila Jindal, was a homemaker. When Rekha Gupta was just two years old, her family settled in the Pitampura area of Delhi. It was there that she received her primary and higher education. Referring to her political career, Rekha Gupta studied Bachelor of Commerce from Daulat Ram College, Delhi University. During this time, she joined the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, the student wing of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. While active in student politics, she was elected to the post of Secretary of Daulat Ram College. She then won the Delhi University Students’ Union election in 1996-97 and became its president. In 2007, she won the Municipal Corporation election from North Pitampura (Ward 54) and became a councilor. In 2009, she served as the General Secretary of the Delhi BJP Mahila Morcha. Given her dedication and work ethic, she was appointed a member of the party’s National Executive. Rekha Gupta then won the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections on a BJP ticket from the Shalimar Bagh seat, winning a landslide victory and becoming a legislator for the first time. She defeated the Aam Aadmi Party and Congress candidates in this election and was sworn in as the 9th Chief Minister of Delhi.
