Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has broken the record for the longest-serving Chief Minister of the state. ND Tiwari was the first Chief Minister of Uttarakhand to complete a full five-year term. Now, Pushkar Singh Dhami has broken the record for the longest-serving Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. Narayan Dutt Tiwari served as Chief Minister for 1,831 days. CM Dhami’s tenure has now reached 1,832 days today, Friday, July 10. ND Tiwari became the first elected Chief Minister of Uttarakhand on March 2, 2002. His tenure as Acting Chief Minister lasted for 1,831 days until March 7, 2007. Pushkar Singh Dhami became Chief Minister of Uttarakhand on July 4, 2021. With the 2022 assembly elections approaching, the BJP reappointed him as Chief Minister. He has held the position ever since. Today, he has completed 1,832 days as Chief Minister. It is being reported that Dhami has set two new records in just five days. On July 4th, Dhami became the first BJP Chief Minister to complete a five-year term and has now broken Narayan Dutt Tiwari’s record for the longest tenure as Chief Minister. The Congress party has given Uttarakhand three Chief Ministers so far: ND Tiwari, Vijay Bahuguna, and Harish Rawat. Of these three Chief Ministers, only Narayan Dutt Tiwari completed his five-year term. Vijay Bahuguna and Harish Rawat also served as Chief Ministers during the same term of the Congress government. The BJP has given Uttarakhand seven Chief Ministers so far, including Nityanand Swami, the first Chief Minister after the formation of the state, Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Trivendra Singh Rawat, Tirath Singh Rawat, and Pushkar Singh Dhami. Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri served as Chief Minister twice. Pushkar Singh Dhami has also been sworn in as Chief Minister twice. Speaking of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, he began his political career with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). During his student days at Lucknow University, Dhami served as the ABVP’s Uttar Pradesh State General Secretary. During his tenure, he organized a large and successful ABVP convention. After the formation of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami also served as the BJP Yuva Morcha State President twice. In 2012, the BJP fielded him for the first time in the legislative assembly, and Dhami won the Khatima seat. He also won the Khatima seat in 2017. In 2021, he was appointed Chief Minister after Tirath Singh Rawat stepped down. He lost to Bhuvan Kapri of the Congress in the 2022 elections. However, the BJP still retained Dhami as Chief Minister, and Dhami returned to the Assembly by contesting the Champawat by-election.
PM Modi to Inaugurate India’s First Hydrogen Train, Multiple Development Projects in Haryana
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the country’s first hydrogen train from Jind on July 17th. It is reported that at a district-level meeting held on Wednesday, July 8th, within the BJP’s Gohana district headquarters, preparations for the Prime Minister’s rally on July 17th were reviewed and the responsibilities of the workers were determined. District President Vijendra Malik stated that the Prime Minister will gift Haryana with several development projects along with the country’s first hydrogen train. District in-charge Dr. Kiran Kalkal has appealed to workers to reach Jind in large numbers to make the event a success. Dr. Archana Gupta stated that this 10-coach hydrogen train, the world’s longest, is a matter of pride for Haryana. Being completely environmentally friendly, it has zero carbon emissions. Once the train is operational, it will only benefit Haryana and its citizens. Prime Minister will inaugurate the four-lane highway At a meeting held at the Public Works Department’s rest house, Cooperative, Prisons, and Tourism Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma reviewed the preparations for the Prime Minister’s program. He stated that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the country is rapidly progressing towards a modern and environmentally friendly transportation system. The operation of the country’s first hydrogen train on the Jind-Gohana-Sonipat rail section marks a new milestone in the history of Indian Railways, and will also provide Haryana with special recognition. The Prime Minister will inaugurate the four-lane highway from Ambala to Kalaam in Bhiwani and the medical college in Narnaul. He will lay the foundation stone for a grand historical museum to be built on 127 acres in Kurukshetra. He will also inaugurate the newly completed elevated railway track in Kurukshetra. The State President also stated that the Prime Minister is working on green energy. The rally will be attended mostly by workers from the same district, and it is expected that a significant number of workers will arrive on foot or by bicycle, while women will arrive on scooters. Dr. Arvind Sharma appealed to the BJP office bearers and workers to make extensive preparations for reaching Jin on 17th July and also reviewed the SAR campaign going on in the assembly constituency in the meeting. UP CM Yogi Adityanath Launches ₹5 Lakh Cashless Medical Scheme for Over 12 Lakh Teachers & Families
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced the “Chief Minister’s Cashless Medical Scheme” for teachers and their families, which was launched today, July 8, 2026, in Varanasi. Under the scheme, more than 1.2 million teachers, Shiksha Mitras, instructors, cooks, and other staff from government primary and secondary schools in the state will receive cashless treatment up to ₹5 lakh per family per year. Eligible staff from Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas are also included in the scheme. The “Chief Minister Teachers’ Cashless Medical Scheme” will provide teachers with the same benefits as those provided under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. Under this scheme, teachers and their families will be able to avail cashless treatment at hospitals affiliated with Ayushman Bharat across the country. This will provide financial assistance for the treatment of serious illnesses, significantly reducing their burden. According to government information, teachers and staff from the Higher Education Department will also be included in this scheme in the future. 101-year-old freedom fighter and socialist leader Pandit Ram Kishan recently expressed his support for the future of youth by joining the CJP protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. Born in Bharatpur, Rajasthan, Pandit Ram Kishan is one of India’s oldest living freedom fighters. He participated in the Quit India Movement of 1942. Pandit Ram Kishan was honored with the title of Shatabdi Purush He subsequently became active in social work alongside the then socialist icon Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia. Pandit Ram Kishan continues to fight on the streets against major issues facing the country, such as recent exam rigging and the rights of youth. Pandit Ram Kishan was arrested several times while fighting for the rights of tribals, Dalits, and the poor. He was honored with the title of Shatabdi Purush (Person of the Century) in New Delhi for his invaluable contribution to the socialist movement. He was also elected to the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly four times in 1962, 1967, 1974, and 1990, and to the Lok Sabha once in 1977. He also led a long-running movement for water rights for local people in Bharatpur, Rajasthan.

Delhi Launches Four-Year Electric Vehicle Roadmap, Targets Pollution-Free Mobility by 2030…
The Delhi government has approved a comprehensive Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy aimed at accelerating the shift to clean mobility and reducing air pollution in the national capital. The policy, which will be implemented in phases over four years beginning July 1, seeks to make Delhi a zero-emission transport hub by March 31, 2030 through large-scale adoption of electric vehicles and supporting infrastructure. To encourage buyers, the policy exempts electric cars priced up to ₹30 lakh from registration fees and road tax, significantly lowering the cost of ownership. It also introduces an incentive of ₹1 lakh for individuals purchasing a new electric vehicle after scrapping an old, polluting vehicle. These measures are designed to boost EV adoption while replacing older, high-emission vehicles on Delhi’s roads. A major regulatory provision of the policy mandates that from April 2028, only electric two-wheelers will be eligible for new registration in Delhi. This phased transition is expected to gradually reduce emissions from one of the city’s largest vehicle segments, while giving manufacturers, dealers, and consumers sufficient time to adapt to the new framework. The government has committed an overall financial outlay of nearly ₹15,000 crore under the policy. Of this, around ₹8,000 crore will be invested in expanding EV charging infrastructure, strengthening the power network, and supporting the waiver of road taxes over the coming years. The remaining allocation will fund purchase incentives and other measures to make electric mobility more affordable and accessible. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the policy is focused entirely on promoting zero-emission vehicles to improve air quality and public health. She said the government has prepared a phased implementation plan to ensure a smooth transition over the next four years. According to the Chief Minister, the policy will not only modernize Delhi’s transport system but also deliver benefits worth approximately ₹15,000 crore to residents while supporting the city’s long-term environmental and climate goals.
