Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is celebrating his 54th birthday today. He was born on June 5, 1972, in Pauri district, Uttarakhand. Coincidentally, Environment Day is also celebrated every year on this day. On this special occasion, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while giving the message of environmental protection to the people of the state, announced the launch of a nationwide tree plantation campaign under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath appealed to the people of the state to fulfill their responsibility towards the motherland, the mother power, and nature by planting a tree and participate in building a green, clean, and prosperous Uttar Pradesh.

CM Yogi Adityanath launched this campaign from the Kukrail forest area in Lucknow. Under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, a large-scale tree plantation drive was initiated in the Kukrail forest area of Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath himself inaugurated the program by planting a tree. More than 200 trees are planned to be planted in the Kukrail forest area. Under CM Yogi’s leadership, 5 crore trees will be planted across Uttar Pradesh in a single day. For which targets have already been set for all departments, divisions, and districts.
Today, on the occasion of World Environment Day, the Forest Department will organize a major event at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, which will be attended by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

In a message shared on his social media account, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that a nationwide tree planting campaign will be launched on the auspicious occasion of World Environment Day under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign. He also stated that important events such as the establishment of the Maharishi Charak Medicinal Forest in Lucknow, the launch of the Uttar Pradesh Clean Air Management Project, the unveiling of the Tree Plantation Campaign 2026, and the notification of 100 wetlands in the state will be organized. These initiatives will give new impetus to the commitment to nature conservation and environmental enhancement.
