Khan Sir is a highly popular Indian teacher and YouTuber based in Patna, Bihar, known for his unique and simple teaching style and for providing education to millions of students at very low fees. The recent controversy surrounding him began with a violent riot and firing outside his coaching institute, Khan Global Studies, on the night of June 2nd. The controversy began on May 29th during a live debate on Aaj Tak, in which senior journalist Anjana Om Kashyap, while discussing the NEET 2026 paper leak and the resulting corruption in the examination system, targeted “star teachers” teaching on YouTube and online platforms. She referred to them as “two-penny teachers,” “view-grabbers,” and “ignorant.” She also alleged that online teachers dramatize sensitive issues to make money and gain popularity. Comments on this issue sparked protests from several teachers, who referred to the media as “godi media,” “sycophants,” and “fake news shops.”
Khan Sir also stated in a video that disrespecting teachers who provide affordable, basic education to millions of children in poor and rural areas of the country would not be tolerated.
This debate escalated into a legal battle when Khan Sir publicly disclosed information related to Anjana Om Kashyap’s child’s school in a video, raising questions about the safety of her family. Due to trolling and personal safety concerns, Anjana Om Kashyap and TV Today Network filed a defamation suit of ₹2 crore in the Delhi High Court against Khan Sir, Abhinav Sir, Babita Tyagi, and several others. The petition seeks the removal of all derogatory comments and information against them on social media.
As a result, on June 2, approximately 15 to 20 miscreants pelted stones and vandalized Khan Sir’s institution, leading to aerial firing, which Khan Sir responded in self-defense. Patna Police, investigating the viral video on social media, arrested two of Khan Sir’s personal security guards, who claimed they fired at Khan Sir’s behest. Patna Police registered an FIR against Khan Sir, charging him with serious charges under Section 109 of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act. A notice was also issued to the guard’s Noida-based company, Apps, regarding the NPB 315-bore rifle seized near the garden. Information regarding both guards’ licenses was obtained. Noida Police was also contacted.
Patna Police also inquired about the whereabouts of the arrested guard, Pradeep Kumar, at the Bewar police station in Mainpuri, and Talewar Singh’s home at the Sheikhpura police station in Kasganj. Noida Police have been sent to verify the weapon’s license to determine whether it is genuine or a fake one. Khan Sir is missing after the FIR was filed. Police have intensified their action following the uproar at the Khan Coaching Institute in Musallahpurhat, Patna, last Tuesday night. An FIR has been filed against Faisal Khan, alias Khan Sir, at the Mukdamkuan police station after two private security guards of the Khan Coaching Institute opened fire. Police say she also visited Khan’s coaching center on Sunday, but he was not present.
Two guards associated with Khan Global Studies are currently in jail after an FIR was filed in the firing incident at the main gate of the institute. Khan’s lawyer, Arvind Kumar Mahuar, is expected to file an anticipatory bail application in the Patna Civil Court today to avoid further arrest. Khan’s lawyer, Arvind Kumar Mahuar, says that after the incident at Khan Global’s gate, a member of the institute filed an FIR against the director of another institute, and in response, the opposing party has also filed an FIR, naming Khan’s name along with the guard who fired in the air in self-defense. His lawyer says Khan will file an anticipatory bail application at the next hearing, and whether or not he is granted bail will depend on the court. However, there is no case against Khan. His name has been deliberately included to frame him.
